Exodus 22:20

Exodus 22:20 "Whoever sacrifices to any god, save to the Lord only, shall be utterly destroyed."

Hello everyone,

This verse caught my eye today. It comes from the book of Exodus, chapter 22, where God has spoken to Moses letting him know the laws that the Israelites must obey.

I dove into Exodus 35:2, concerning a similar fault, in a previous article which you can (and should) read here.

Now, let us begin to look at Exodus 22:20.

The verse, as well as the concept, is very simple. God orders to the Israelites to "utterly destroy" anyone who commits such a horrible crime as to worship another deity. You don't have to worry about going to hell though, because God will forgive you for this murder.

I find it amusing how the Christian God condones murder sometimes, but other times He completely objects to it. What a joke!

Would you kill Gandhi? God demands that you should.
What about Phil Jackson? (Famous NBA Head Coach)
Jennifer Lopez?

If you agree not to kill these people, who all worship another deity, utterly then you are disobeying God, you bad Christian you! Why not kill them, I mean it wouldn't hinder you chances at getting into Heaven.

Why do you [Christians] believe in such a horrible god? You are the first to say verse a is to be taken literally, but verse b was meant to be understood metaphorically. You pick and choose what is right and wrong. Why not just accept the fact that your God is evil, He is a murderer, and the only book written about Him is a lie. Accept it people God is not real; merely a great imagination written down by people long ago, before science was allowed. We are in the 21st century, religion has no place here.

Deuteronomy 2:34

Deuteronomy 2:34 "And we captured all his cities at that time and utterly destroyed every city, men, women, and children; we left none remaining;"

What a great verse, the Lord God, advocating the mass murder and slaughter of scores of innocent men, women, and children. Now before anybody tries to say that I am not paying attention to the context, or I somehow played with the words to make it sound bad, (trust me I have heard it all) I will briefly explain what is going on and then continue to explain the verse.

Directly from Deuteronomy 2, if you would like to read the story yourself.

Moses is leading the Israelites through the wilderness for 40 years, during this time, he leads them through many cities and kingdoms one of them being Heshbon (controlled by King Sihon). God gave Moses orders to pass through the kingdom of Heshbon, but King Sihon would not let them pass.

This led to the battle at Jahaz which, by the power of God, the Israelites won. After defeating King Sihon's army, at the battle of Jahaz, the Lord God gave Moses and his people the land so they could pass through it freely on their journey.

The preceding verse to Deuteronomy 2:34 states "And the Lord God gave him over to us; and we defeated him and his sons and all his people."(Deut 2:33)

God gave Moses and his people this kingdom so they could "...utterly destroy[ed] every city, men, women, and children..." How is this justifiable?

How can anyone standby this terrible deity? As I described in my last post, God puts good hearted, innocent men through eternal damnation. As I explained in this post; He allows, with the power of His hand, the slaughter, rape, pillage, and torture of His own creations. Stop being blind to the truth that is in the Bible; read it, you will find everything I describe and more I promise you.

My question today to all readers: What are some reasons why YOU follow this divine creator?

Who will burn in Hell?

As I was reading through the Bible today (of which I do quite often) I felt inspired to write about who will burn in hell according to God.

Anyone who has ever learned about Christianity (when I say Christianity I am speaking for Judeo-Christian beliefs as a whole) knows that one MUST believe in God and only God to get into heaven, after all it is the first of the sacred 10 commandments. So this automatically restricts anyone who is not of the Christian faith. Doesn't matter how good willed you are, nor your character, nor how many people you have helped; none of that matters to the Big Man up stairs.

I will use my late Grandfather as a good example of the type of people you won't see in heaven.

My 'pa (as I will call him) was born in the late 1930's, a recovering time for America as we were just seeing the end of the Depression. He was raised a strict Catholic, but being the intelligent man that he was, later on came to understand that the Bible was very faulted and that God was an evil, human creation.

During his lifetime that spanned over six and a half decades he spent a lot of it working hard, just like most people born of the depression era. He was one of the kindest men alive, a very caring and loving 'pa. He spent countless years helping people rebuild houses, cars, furniture, all without asking for a single penny.

August 29, 2005: Hurricane Katrina makes landfall, as a Category 3 storm, on the southeast Louisiana coast and causes massive destruction.

Thousands of people were dead, left homeless, and had no money to go anywhere. A few months after this horrific event, my 'pa headed over to Louisiana to help rebuild houses for the Americans that had suffered the full effects of mother nature. He and a couple of old buddies worked hard in the southern heat and never once asked for repayment.

August 23, 2006: My grandfather suffered a massive stroke while working on a house in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was rushed to the local hospital where he was treated for his stroke. After two long nights, my 'pa was announced brain dead.

A wonderful man will forever be remembered in the hearts of many for all the things he did. I will never forget the legacy of my grandfather, and I hope you, as a reader, will remember this story and hold it close to your heart.

That man I just described to you is burning in hell for eternity, according to God. How will heaven be for you knowing that a human being; that helped restore the lives of many Americans whom he had never met, is burning in hell? While you, sit back and coast through life, maybe helping a few people out here and there not doing a damn thing to restore the hopeless life of a fellow human being; get access to heaven. You get eternal peace, and this loving man gets to rot in Hell. How do you feel about this?

Think about this man, according to God, just because he questioned his existence my grandpa is cursed with eternal damnation. All the good he had done all his life meant NOTHING to your horrid God. How evil must one be to deny peace at rest to someone like him?

My question to you, Do you honestly believe this is fair?

To everyone who reads this, don't be shy to post a comment and answer my question. It will most likely lead to a good, educated discussion. Also don't forget to subscribe via email and RSS.

Death?

Is death a main factor in why people are religious? When you are mentally mature enough to question why you believe in God, does death have a big part of why you would answer yes?

I have a lot of people that try to "convert" me everyday, and almost always they mention how great life will be after "death". What will be so great about it? I mean when you die you die. What are the chances that this evil God is actually out there? What makes you so sure that it is the Lord up there and not Buddha? If you were raised as a strict Buddhist, do you think you would somehow know that the only true God is the Christian God? Absolutely not; you would stand by the fairy tales that you heard as a kid, just like you do now.

It really makes sense how religion is/ was used to control the masses. If you make up some bogus answer to a very important question, [in this case what happens when we die?] that will sound appealing to people, than of course a lot of people will follow whatever else you have to say. Humans now a days have lost the ability to think for themselves.

So my question to you [the reader] is.. Does the afterlife play a roll into why you believe?

To everyone who reads this, don't be shy to post a comment and answer my question. It will most likely lead to a good educated discussion. Also don't forget to subscribe via email and RSS.

Debating a Christian: Part 2

Hey everyone,

This is part 2 of the "Debating a Christian" series of post and today I will be talking mostly about the "God is not human" tactic as I explained in part 1. (To read part 1 click here. )

How many times have you been in a discussion with a believer of God, and come to the point where you have stomped every last statement of denial out of them? It happens quite often, in fact almost as often as a believer will resort to circular reasoning and avoidance of a question. It is very annoying to deal with, because of the fact that you must divert time and energy into explaining how self negating this statement is, in order to move on and have at least some of the audience on your side.

This will be the main point of this topic and I will simply show you exactly what to say to put an end to this non sense.

Now I, myself, have been to the point in many discussions where the opposition has stated that God is not human, therefor some how backing up their argument that no human can ever understand why He does what He does or why He does it. Here is all you have to ask..

If it's beyond what anyone can comprehend then how did they comprehend it? How did they comprehend the fact that its beyond anybodies ability to comprehend? Isn't this a self negating statement? Yes it is people, and those questions right there will confuse and lose anyone willing to back up such a horrid Deity.

After you ask these simple questions the audience will understand how stupid the statement that "God is not a human" is. It will throw off your opponent and more importantly give you the support of the audience.

Please everyone comment, and also subscribe to my blog via email to catch the 3rd part of this series, you won't want to miss it. I will be talking about how to put together a successful debate against a believer, that way you walk away with your head a little higher. See you soon

Lord give me A SIGN?

I've been thinking; has anyone ever had to tell themselves "I need a sign from God right now?"

After asking a few religious [and non-religious] family members and friends, I have come to a conclusion. Everyone at one point in their life will ask for a sign from [some type of] God.

That, ladies and gentlemen, means most people can connect on this level of thought. At least non-believers and believers [of God] share some type of emotional questioning for a deity.

My question is; if you are a strong follower of God, why would you need to ask this? Is it because your God has failed [miserably] to show himself? You might say it is because everyone goes through tough times and God wants you to experience this thought, but why? Why would a perfect God need his most beloved creations to feel lonely or helpless? How faulted can one God be? Sad to say the Judeo-Christian God is very faulted and even worst 2.1 billion humans believe in this guy.

Just food for thought, please feel free to comment or ask questions to ME as I will respond. Subscribe so you don't miss out on the "Debating a Christian" series and I will see you guys back here soon.

Conversation with a Bible believer.

Hey everybody,

I would just like to post a conversation that I recently had with a fellow. I have provided him with numerous verses that are contradicting, including some that I have posted about. I have shown him with intricate detail how evolution works; how God is evil; how the Bible is faulted and the only things he can do at this point is use circular reasoning and call me names. This isn't the whole conversation, just a small portion at the end of our discussion, I quoted a famous quote from which I have not spent time to figure out the original author and well you'll see the rest. The fellow's name will be kept anonymous (***) for privacy.

Me: When we start teaching people HOW to think and not WHAT to think religion will be a thing of the past.

***: That's original

Me:
Either way I speak the truth my man.

***: History repeating itself every year with you young bucks. I still haven't forgotten about those apparent contradictions.

Me: I'm glad you just considered me a young buck, that's what they considered Aristotle when he first showed evidence that the earth was a sphere and not flat "young buck". Or what about Parmenides, Pythagoras (ever heard of the Pythagorean Theorem), Leucippus, Democritus? All scientist who provided undeniable evidence that the earth was round. Known as [to the world now] some of thee most intelligent men ever to step foot on our planet, yet were seen by others of there time as "wack jobs", "young bucks." Aristotle, turns out to be one of the most well known philosophers to this day.

My point, I am just providing evidence, no biased thought behind what I say, only fact, I will never claim something to be true because "God says so"; I don't need him to say so. I can prove my explanations with physical evidence. Humanity has been so brainwashed for the past 1000 years that most of us have forgot how to think rationally, we need to move on from the "religious era." It is old, irrational, scared to know the truth people, that hold us "young bucks" back. After all the most powerful religiously ruled era to date was coined the "Dark ages" hmm.. wonder why? But then again people still think Earth is less than 7,000 years old...

Debating a Christian: Part 1

Hey there,

I'm going to stray away from Bible verses [specifically] right now and discuss something that is currently on going. It involves me and a close friend, and of course the Bible. :) (You didn't think I'd go way off topic did you?). This will be a 3,4, maybe 5 part series depending on how much response it generates. Hopefully I will lend insight on how to successfully debate Christians, which will closely relate to debating creationist, but that is a whole different animal.

So, anyways what I wanted to talk about, in this first part, is a situation I am currently in, in an actual debate, and the usual tactics you can expect to face while debating a Christian. I will use the exact verse that the debate; or opinionated discussion if you will, is centered around; Deuteronomy 23:1, which states:

"No one whose testicles are crushed or whose male organ is cut off shall enter the assembly of the Lord."

A little bit of background on the verse:
This section of "The Fifth Book of Moses; Deuteronomy" is classified as the 3rd sermon, which contains the Deuteronomic Code. The sermon is given by Moses and he specifies a series of mitzvot (in Hebrew; the plural for mitzvah, meaning: commands) given by the Lord, to the Israelites.

Now it is not necessarily the specific verse that has meaning to what I want to talk about, rather the use of "context error" that [most] followers of the bible [whilst involved in a debate] use to avoid being seen as wrong. While it is a clever tactic, which is intended to make the listeners believe the user and throw you off as the opposition, I myself have learned to spot it, immediately, and expose it at it's worst.

I will explain to you how to spot this while debating and what you can do to turn the tables quickly and use this elementary technique to your advantage.

Now it isn't hard to spot when somebody uses this against you because most of the times they will say something like: "you're not looking at the context" or "you have to pay attention to the context of the verse". Either way, most of the time they will use the word context; and in the rare case your are speaking with a well educated Bible scholar, you might hear the phrase "frame of reference" HA! give me a break.

Moving onto turning the tables on your opponent; it is very simple might I add. I will use an example of the debate I am currently in. Let us refer to myself as person A and my friend, person B. The discussion is about a very obvious contradiction in the bible. God says that he is a loving caring God who cannot sin, yet He is willing to kill His own creations? and deny them access to His Kingdom for ridiculous reasons. (Read my post "Deuteronomy 23:1" for a more detailed description on this specific verse.)

A- Deuteronomy 23:1 states: "No one whose testicles are crushed or whose male organ is cut off shall enter the assembly of the Lord." How is God a loving deity if He is willing to kill His own children for such ridiculous reasons?

B- You are not understanding the context of the verse. Moses is speaking to the Israelites not everybody else.

Okay, lets break this down. I stated the verse and asked a simple question. Now regardless of what the answer really is (God is not a loving deity!) he avoided the question and through the "context" word out there. Now a listener will naturally follow person B because he avoided the question and put the pressure on person A. Everyone in the audience has most likely forgot about person A's original question and is now expecting person A to rethink his position.

A- I completely understand the context; Moses was given commands by God to tell the Israelites the laws that structure the promised land. Moses spoke to the Israelites, and explained the laws word for word as God had instructed him. Therefor Deut 23:1 is the Word of God. Now I will ask this question again that you failed to answer. How is God a loving deity if He is willing to kill His own children for such ridiculous reasons?

B- He was talking to the Israelites! No human will know why God does what He does because he is God.

Once again person B avoided the question, but since person A completely described the context of the verse and pointed out that person B dodged the question the audience is now on person A's side and should expect and answer from person B. As you can see person B was not expecting such a detailed, witty response and has fumbled his opportunity to gain the edge which in turn has given person A the advantage.

So in a few easy steps:
1- Make sure you ask powerful questions. Things like why has God done"___" when earlier in the Bible he says "___". Bible scholars hate this question and almost immediately use the next most famous tactic; the "God is not a human" tactic, which will be discussed in part 2.

2- As soon as they use the context tactic exploit it by explaining in detail to the audience what the context of the subject matter is. This will bring the audience to your side of the debate.

3- Lastly if your opponent dodges your questions (which is almost a guarantee) call them out on it. Tell the audience they have not answered your question yet, your opponent will feel stupid and it will put him/her on the spot.

That, is really all you have to do to turn the tables on someone who has used the "context" tactic. As you can see person B followed up with the "God is not human" tactic which will be discussed in part 2 of this series. As always, make sure you study up, and know your stuff before getting into a debate with somebody. Your best weapon is your brain so make sure you use it.

Exodus 35:2

Exodus 35:2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy sabbath of solemn rest to the Lord; whoever does any work on it shall be put to death;

In this verse, Moses, is speaking to to a congregation of Israelites. He tells them that this is what the Lord has commanded them to do. Like my first quote from the Bible I will break the verse into smaller pieces. [I should probably just do this with every verse].

"Six days shall work be done,..."
This part is pretty self explanatory; the six days God was speaking to Moses about were Monday through Saturday. It has a direct correlation to the six days that God used to create heaven and Earth in the first chapter of Genesis.

"...but on the seventh day you shall have a holy sabbath of solemn rest to the Lord;..."
The seventh day God is talking about here is Sunday; once again, a direct correlation to the seventh day that God rested, after creating heaven and Earth. A holy sabbath would be a (in this case) weekly day of rest and worship to God.

"...whoever does any work on it shall be put to death;"
This is the violent part of this verse, the part you would never hear in any Bible study class or in any preachers sermon. The word of God stating that a man must be put to death if he works on a Sunday is absurd; this one verse alone should show people that the Judeo-Christian God that you grew up learning about is a horrible deity.

Know one in their right mind would put a man to death for such an act. This goes to show how selfish and evil God is, how is he all loving if he is willing to murder a man for working. A man that could be working to help support his family, I myself have worked many Sundays, and I'll be damned if someone feels the need to kill me for it because their "God" said so.

In closing, let me ask you a question. If you are a believer, and you claim to follow and worship this Lord; would you be able to murder a man for working on a Sunday?

This is only one of the many, many examples of how evil, cruel, and corrupt God is.

The Crusaders !Deus lo vult!

!Deus lo vult! ("It is God's will") This was the famous Christian Crusader's battle cry.

Peter the Hermit (Deid July 8, 1115) became a member of the council, of the well known Crusaders, in May of 1097. He was well known for his leadership and inspirational capabilities. Once using a letter that he self proclaimed had received from Jesus himself and was written by God, as a tactic to recruit tens of thousands of Christian peasants to follow him.

He along with other Crusade leaders later lead their noblemen, of the finest Christians they knew, into small towns and villages across Europe to destroy all of God's enemies; which consisted mostly of Muslims occupying the Middle East. If the men, women, and children did not convert to Christianity then they were brutally murdered.

Maybe the most outrageous of leaders that these Crusaders followed was a goose! [Yes, I said a goose] through the Rhine valley (which is currently located in most of modern day Germany and a few other countries as well) who they believed was enchanted by God to be their guide, and it gets worse.

Somehow these ill minded followers happened to stumble upon a mob of fellow Crusaders led by the notorious Emicho of Leiningen, who was brutal Christian leader of Crusaders. Motivated by greed to fund his army, Emicho would accept payments from the wealthy in agreement to not harm their villages, before later pillaging the village and massacring its people.

One of the most horrid massacres displayed by these noble Christians occurred in a Yugoslavian town, Zemun, where, led by Emicho's army, approx. 4,000 innocent men, women, and children were raped, beaten, chopped up, burned, hanged, tortured or otherwise slaughtered in the name of God.

913 years later and we still worship this evil spirit. The above is a very brief account to the horrible crusades that took place from 1095-1291, yet it still displays how detrimental religion is to society. I urge you to do further research on the subject, look into all of the crusades, there is a lot of information in encyclopedias at your local libraries. Few things have led man to commit such horrible acts and religion is the most popular by far.

Deuteronomy 23:1

The word of the Lord God..

(Deuteronomy 23:1) "No one whose testicles are crushed or whose male organ is cut off shall enter the assembly of the Lord."

Let's examine this short verse by breaking it down into smaller pieces.

First, this verse is a quoted from God Himself; it is part of the Deuteronomic code which is a seris of mitzvot (Hebrew for commands), so this statement is the direct word of God.

"No one whose testicles are crushed..."
Any man who has had his testicles mutilated or harmed in any way shape or form, which would deem them incapable of use.

"...or whose male organ is cut off..."

Any man who has had any part of his reproductive organ severed or removed from his body.

"...the assembly of the Lord."

The assembly of the Lord, or simply put, Heaven.

So in this verse, God clearly states that any man who has had any of his sexual reproductive system tampered with in any way will be denied access into his well known "Kingdom". This is just ridiculous and it comes straight out of the Bible, it was not edited or changed at all.

It goes to show how absurd this so called all loving God is. Any body who has ever suffered a terrible accident to their male genitalia isn't good enough for His kingdom. Any man ever diagnose with testicle cancer, you guessed it, denied access to heaven.

Even a modern day hero, Lance Armstrong, 7 time winner of the Tour De France, a man who won the battle against cancer, will be denied access to heaven according to God.

Introduction

I'm going to try and post daily and hopefully multiple post per day. If enough people gain interest and start asking questions I will be happy to answer. Strong opinions are always welcome and please subscribe and tell your family and friends.

My hope is to open people's eyes up a little bit on the subject of the Bible. Specifically the lies, contradictions, and atrocities written within, and well of course exposing the cruel and selfish Judeo-Christian God.

Once again, please feel free to respond to post, asking questions, arguing against or with my post, but most importantly spread the information on and tell others about it.
